Brothers in art was founded in 1999 by Martin Kool and Arno Drost who both graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Digital Media Design at the Utrecht School of the Arts. Two new partners joined, Marvin Ronk and GFXartist co-founder Martijn van Zal, in respectively 2003 and 2005.
While Brothers in art was initially a team of visual and interaction designers, our visions quickly led to a need for strong technical execution. The focus shifted to well-designed user interaction and online communication tools.
In early 2000 our passion for digital art led to the creation of the wildly popular digital art
community GFXartist.com, which is now the home of over 60,000 digital and traditional artists from all over the world. This site has long been the flagship of how we perceive online presence and how you can create and sustain a community online.
"We see an integral system where others are still patching together 'killer apps'"
Our integrated approach to websites and online communication tools resulted in a powerful, integral and flexible community system. A concept that was picked up by the international entertainment industry in 2004.
Build onto the basis of GFXartist.com, Blackeyedpeas.com was the first massive community site developed to enrich the online experience of Black Eyed Peas music fans around the world. Today blackeyedpeas.com has over 500,000 registered members from around the world.
Today Brothers in art focuses on the development of the in-house community engine that powers GFXartist.com and Blackeyedpeas.com. We actively monitor and maintain a large number of web servers, perform day to day community moderation and develop new and exciting ways to connect people from all over the world online to create a healthy stream of revenue for all of our clients.
In short we have become the specialist when it comes to managing an identity online and are able to attract the right audience for your b(r)and and/or products. From creation to moderation and maintenance, Brothers in art is your partner.
